As traffic gets more difficult heading into this
weekend before Christmas, remember that our
location on Henderson Blvd. is a bit outside the
mess (one reason we moved here!). We have
use of
the parking lot next door to us (another reason we
moved here!),
and we've extended our hours for your
convenience
(scroll down a bit for details).
We've always strived to be more than a record
store
and in addition to all the great music you're used to
finding
here (that you definitely can't find elsewhere in Tampa
Bay),
some of the more popular ephemera we've
been
selling this Holiday season includes all the great
Kid
Robot limited editions and USB (and
standard)
turntables (along with all the accoutrements that
go
along, like discwasher kits and replacement
cartridges), screen-printed concert posters ,
tons of new t-shirts, and we just got in a new
batch of
the
33 1/3 book series (pocket size critiques and
documentaries of classic albums).
Vinyl Fever gift certificates can be purchased
online, here and WE'LL BE DONATING 5% OF
OUR GIFT CERTIFICATE SALES to local
charities.

GIFT UP!
We Accept Chain Competitors' Gift Certificates and Cards
Remember the Gift Card Exchange Program we ran
last year? Well, we're doing it again this year, by
popular demand. So, say Aunt Tillie over in Plant
City
ain't hip to Vinyl Fever, so she buys you a Best Buy
gift
card but they don't sell Sharon Jones & The Dap-
Kings on
vinyl, so you're wishing she gave you a Vinyl Fever gift certificate instead. Well,
you can pretend she did &
bring
it in & we'll trade you out for the same amount!
Its easy & painless, but here's the guidelines:
1) The gift card must be from a chain
competitor - we don't trade on other indie shops
because we want you to support them, too. The chain
competitors that we will trade on include Best Buy,
Target, Circuit City, Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. Hit
us up on a good day and we'll even take Staples!
2) The gift card value must be verifiable via phone
or
internet. That means the card must have an 800-
number or website on the back.
3) It must not expire within 6 months from the
date of
exchange.
Cool? Cool!

Listening Post Features for December
Come lean on our posts
Eulogies -
Eulogies
"Eulogies simmers with emotion and brims with
understated hooks, registering nearest the sensible
introspection of Wheat's Hope and Adams, Nada
Surf's The Weight is a Gift, or Death Cab for Cutie's
Transatlanticism." - Pitchfork
Ana Popovic - Still Making History
Breakthrough release produced by Grammy Award
winning producer John Porter and featuring the
blazing fretboard work by Yugoslavian born vocalist /
guitarist Ana Popovic, whose skills on the guitar often
draws comparison to the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
Patrick Watson - Close To Paradise
Combining elements of cinematic, melodic post rock
with electronic flourishes, Canada's Patrick Watson
has quickly gained fans both among the public and in
the notoriously jaded music business. The group,
named for its front man and chief songwriter, has
gained exposure on television through two separate
song placements on Grey's Anatomy as well as a
widely-seen video on You Tube ("The Great Escape"
has been seen over 430,000 times). The widely
acclaimed album is currently tearing up the charts in
Europe and Scandinavia, and has reached gold
status in Canada. This is unashamedly
melodic alternative rock.
The Hives - The Black and White Album
The Hives are back with The Black and White Album!
Featuring the hits "Tick Tick Boom," Won't Be Long"
and "T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S. (We Rule The World)" and
recorded around the world with a cast of
producers including Dennis Herring, Pharrell Williams
and Jacknife Lee.
Various Artists - Causes 1-Waxploitation
100% of the
proceeds will go
to three non-profit organizations: Doctors Without
Borders, Human Rights Watch, and Oxfam
America.
Waxploitation launches its inaugural Causes
album
series with Causes 1 which includes exclusive and
rare tracks donated by Animal Collective,
The Black
Keys, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes,
Cornelius, The Cure,
David Sylvian, Death Cab for Cutie, (International)
Noise Conspiracy, The Shins remixed by Clint
Mansell, Spoon, Teargas & Plateglass, Thievery
Corporation and Travis.
