 FREE IN-STORE PERFORMANCES
 Only Olney

David's Diner Legendary Nashville musician DAVID OLNEY has promised to stop by here on Wednesday, November 14th, on his way to a party gig that he's playing nearby! David's one of those guys you may have heard of, via more popular musicians (Emmylou Harris and Steve Earle have covered his songs, among others). The Houston Press described him well when they wrote, "...Olney stands out like a jalapeño in a bowl of vanilla pudding in Nashville, where he lives, and throughout an 18-album career has stubbornly gone his own way, making brilliant, unheralded albums as artists from Linda Ronstadt to bluegrass king Del McCoury record his songs." We're lucky to be in his company and need you to help us make him feel welcome!
Advance reservations are required for that evening's HOUSE CONCERT (which only holds ~ 30 people!)- Contact: 813-837-6572 or gshello@tampabay.rr.com.

 NOVEMBER LISTENING POST FEATURES
 Give us a Wink

Prefuse Prefuse 73 - Preparations
By focusing on the foundation of his creative process and less on the intricacies of his trademark editing and chopping magic, Guillermo Scott Heron has emerged with an album that will give fans a subtle taste of every Prefuse 73 record that has come before and will give the haters a deserved shake-up.

Jose Gonzalez - In Our Nature
NPR "Quietly powerful" Rolling Stone "Subtly hypnotic"
José Gonzalez's sophomore album sees Jose coming into his own as a songwriter, with songs that are as instantly accessible as they are brimming with darkness and brooding intensity.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand
From its conceptual stages, the mere idea of Raising Sand held infinite fascination for both its creators and those around them. On the surface, Robert and Alison have seemingly little in common, but a deeper dig reveals an elemental understanding flowed between them, waiting to be tapped...and this collaboration has brought us to Raising Sand.

Marissa Nadler - Songs III: Bird On The Water
... Songs III: Bird on the Water is among the most arresting recordings of 2007 thus far and sets a new high-water mark for this seemingly limitless songwriter. - Allmusic.com
... Nadler's songs feature ghostly vocals, carefully wrought lyrics, and subtle acoustic arrangements- imagine Leonard Cohen singing soprano. - Filter Magazine
... Nadler writes songs that spin tales of folklore and witchcraft, and she performs them in a silken soprano. - Interview Magazine
... one of the most focused and engaging singer- songwriter releases so far this year. - Pitchfork

Grizzly Bear - Friend
Friend is a testament to what Grizzly Bear has become in its 3 year history - a well loved, sonically adventurous and adaptable pop band, with honey- sweet four part harmonies, and an unforgettable live show.

 *NEW MUSIC NOW* AT VINYLFEVERTAMPA.COM
 THIS WEEK'S FEATURE: ANDREW BIRD

Andrew Bird Pitchfork calls ARMCHAIR APOCRYPHA by ANDREW BIRD "music for the ages that must be heard." Though classically trained, he plays his violin in a most unconventional manner, accompanying himself on glockenspiel and guitar, adding singing and whistling to the equation, and becoming a pop songwriter in the process. From "Fiery Crash" to "Yawny At The Apocalypse," varied and stunning musical tapestries veer fluidly from almost childlike innocence to seasoned, darkly comic wit, with brilliant and unexpected twists at every turn. Hear for yourself the tracks in our pop-up jukebox at vinylfevertampa .com.
