Why We Love Vinyl, Reason #1,653
 and Why We Love Bruce, Reason # 1,427 (Gabe's # 9,412)

In an unusual move, Bruce Springsteen's new album, "Magic", is expected to be released on vinyl a week before its CD version hits stores. The vinyl is due Sept. 25 via Columbia, while the CD will arrive Oct. 2. A handful of major releases have appeared on vinyl prior to CD; Pearl Jam released its 1994 album, "Vitalogy," on vinyl two weeks early, prompting a premature No. 55 debut on The Billboard 200.
The first single from "Magic", the driving rocker "Radio Nowhere", is due to hit U.S. radio outlets on Sept. 4 but has begun making the rounds online in the past week.
Springsteen and the E Street Band will play some live shows in the U.S. upon the album's release.

 AUGUST FEATURES
on our listening posts- just a few days left!

Spoon Spoon *Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
This record starts with "Don't Make Me A Target", a song that builds on Spoon's familiar minimal rhythmic piano/guitar vamp popularized on earlier hits like "Small Stakes" or "The Way We Get By". The album quickly moves into uncharted territory with the atmospheric "The Ghost Of You Lingers" and moves through several different stylistic changes from the explosive "You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb" to the wall-of- sound horns of radio single "The Underdog". Their most heartfelt batch of songs since 2001's 'Girls Can Tell'

The Chemical Brothers*We Are The Night
Over a decade has passed since The Chemical Brothers debut that ushered the crossover of electronic music into the rock mainstream. The duo are back to "Do It Again" with their astounding new album titled 'We Are The Night'. The new album displays a myriad of sounds, sonics and grooves, along with an astounding display of featured artists including Fatlip of Pharcyde, Ali Love, Klaxons, Willy Mason and Midlake.

Eastern Conference Champions *Ameritown
Eastern Conference Champions hail from just outside Philadelphia . The band members worked together in construction and wrote songs at night for their EP, released on Retone Records. When the president of Geffen Records heard that EP, he signed them. Eastern Conference Champions have done a residency at the Silverlake Lounge in LA, and have toured with bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The View, and Silverchair.

Ministry *Rio Grande Dub
Fresh from the 13th Planet compound in El Paso, TX comes the dance/club remix Rio Grande Dub (ya), featuring double blast remixes of the 2006 Grammy- nominated track "LiesLiesLies." Djs John Bechdel (Fear Factory, Rpong, Ministry) and Clayton Worbeck (Revolting Cocks) transform Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen's tracks into a spellbinding genre- bending trance-metal, politico-industrial masterpiece of 11 remixes.

Modest Mouse* We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
The follow-up to the platinum-selling and Grammy(R)- nominated 'Good News...' album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank is a new chapter in MODEST MOUSE's career with the infusion of legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
