 Ok, Here we go-

Kelly' s Pub (you know Kelly- he used to work here!) will be hosting Jesse's birthday party this Saturday night, January 12th. Jesse, his own bad self, will be funkin' it up, spinning tough from his collection of rare soul 45s. So after you've hit Vinyl Fever, go down(town)- 206 N. Morgan St. to be exact - and maybe if you can guess the big man's age, there'll be somethin' in it for you too.

 GIFT UP!
We Accept Chain Competitors' Gift Certificates and Cards

Gift In case you didn't know, we do this thing where we will trade you a happy Vinyl Fever Gift Certificate for one of the crappy ones you got for whatever occasion from some unknowing, but well-meaning, relative or friend. We actually do this gift card exchange thing all through the year (we don't stop caring about you once December ends), but bring it up now because it's, you know, that time of year. While Vinyl Fever can't do anything about that sweater with reindeers on it or that smelly candle in the shape of an evergreen or those tins of stale nougat, we can help with those unwanted gift cards*!

If you've received some gift cards* that you don't want, stop on by Vinyl Fever and we'll take them and turn them into something you can use -- a VINYL FEVER GIFT CERTIFICATE. One of our awesome gift certs will be issued for an amount equal to the value of your other gift card, upon verification.

Just bring your unwanted gift card to the front counter and we'll have a Vinyl Fever gift cert (or store credit) waiting for you when you're ready to check out.

* Yes, of course, there's a catch or three. (1) The gift card must be from a chain competitor -- we don't trade on other indie stores' gift cards- that'd be bad karma. (2) The gift card's value must be verifiable via phone or the internet. That means that we can only accept a competitor's gift card if it has an 800-number or website where the value of the card can be confirmed -- see the back of your card if you're not sure. (3) The competitors' gift card must not expire for at least 6 months from the date of exchange. That's it.

 Listening Post Features for January
Come in and be one of us

thing that makes you go BOOM! The Hives - The Black and White Album
The Hives are back with The Black and White Album! Featuring the hits "Tick Tick Boom," Won't Be Long" and "T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S. (We Rule The World)" and recorded around the world with a cast of producers including Dennis Herring, Pharrell Williams and Jacknife Lee.

Ana Popovic - Still Making History
Breakthrough release produced by Grammy Award winning producer John Porter and featuring the blazing fretboard work by Yugoslavian born vocalist / guitarist Ana Popovic, whose skills on the guitar often draws comparison to the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.

Eulogies - Eulogies
"Eulogies simmers with emotion and brims with understated hooks, registering nearest the sensible introspection of Wheat's Hope and Adams, Nada Surf's The Weight is a Gift, or Death Cab for Cutie's Transatlanticism." - Pitchfork

Patrick Watson - Close To Paradise
Combining elements of cinematic, melodic post rock with electronic flourishes, Canada's Patrick Watson has quickly gained fans both among the public and in the notoriously jaded music business. The group, named for its front man and chief songwriter, has gained exposure on television through two separate song placements on Grey's Anatomy as well as a widely-seen video on You Tube ("The Great Escape" has been seen over 430,000 times). The widely acclaimed album is currently tearing up the charts in Europe and Scandinavia, and has reached gold status in Canada. This is unashamedly melodic alternative rock.

Various Artists - Causes 1-Waxploitation
100% of the proceeds will go to three non-profit organizations: Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch, and Oxfam America.
Waxploitation launches its inaugural Causes album series with Causes 1 which includes exclusive and rare tracks donated by Animal Collective, The Black Keys, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Cornelius, The Cure, David Sylvian, Death Cab for Cutie, (International) Noise Conspiracy, The Shins remixed by Clint Mansell, Spoon, Teargas & Plateglass, Thievery Corporation and Travis.
