Tim Mullally
Sunday, Sep 16, 2007   2:00 in the afternoon

TIM MULLALLY has played in numerous popular area bands for the past 15 years and will perform a solo, acoustic set at Vinyl Fever on Sunday afternoon, September 16th.

BIO BY TIM: I was born in Cleveland and knew I wanted to be a guitar player at an early age after seeing James Gang perform at the Ohio State Fair. Shortly thereafter, I moved to St. Petersburg Florida with my parents and I soon began playing guitar. It occupied most of time as a teenager in Florida and thankfully it kept me out of serious trouble. I started playing in nightclubs when I was 16 and I played in a lot of different bands in high school including the Lakewood High School stage band. After graduating, I joined a touring outfit that did a lot of Led Zeppelin covers. Being on stage seven nights a week (plus Sunday matinees!) for 5 or 6 sets a night really helped me cut my chops. Playing Jimmy Page licks didn't hurt either! I moved to Chicago in the early '80's and started playing in "new wave" bands. At this point I began writing and performing orignal music. I played on my first record with a group called Cant Move. We were regulars on the Chicago club scene performing with groups like The Kind, Bohemia, and The Suburbs. Five years later I relocated back to Florida and actually quit playing guitar for awhile, until my brother Tommy convinced me to start a band again. Tommy Tye Dye was soon formed, and we played with groups like The Headlites, Deloris Telescope, Monday Mornings, Multi-Color-House, Sarasota Slim and numerous others in the early '90's. In '92 Tommy Tye Dye merged with Multi-Color-House and after a few years I left that group to make a CD of my own. That CD was Mountain Hike released in 1995. Robert Wegmann and I teamed up after that and we've been recording and performing together ever since. We released The Mayfly Glimmer in 2002. I am currently performing as an acoustic solo act and have just released a new CD called "Acoustic Mullallyland".
